About Thimania
Thimania means “compare” in Kikuyu, a language spoken in Kenya. We put money transfer apps and payment gateways in Africa side by side, with every figure dated and sourced.
What we do
We collect fees, exchange-rate margins, limits, payout options and licences for each provider, and show where each figure came from and the day we checked it. Where we have not checked something, the page says “Not yet verified” instead of guessing.

What we don’t do
We don’t send money, hold money or take payments. When you choose a provider we send you to them, and the final price is always confirmed in their app before you pay. What we publish is information, not financial advice: see our terms.
Where we are today
Thimania is new. Many profiles are still built from desk research that we have not tested ourselves, and each one says so. A page is not ranked, and is kept out of search results, until it has a verified figure and our written verdict.
How we make money
Thimania is free to use. We earn a fee when you sign up with a provider through a link on this page. That never changes how we rank them: rankings follow the numbers we checked, not who pays us.
